FAQ

WHEN DO YOU ADD NEW ITEMS?

I make stuff all the time and keep my shop updated as those items are finished. To get the latest updates, sign up for my newsletter at the bottom of this page and follow along on Instagram.

HOW WILL MY ITEM SHIP?
I ship worldwide and almost always ship via USPS.  I send you a tracking number as soon as your order is on its way to you.

HOW IS YOUR ARTWORK MADE?
In silk: I use the French serti method of silk painting in which lines are drawn with a wax resist.  Once the wax is dried on the silk, I heat set it and then begin the meticulous painting process with French dyes.  Dyes are steamed until heat set.  It's a long, laborious process that results in one of a kind artwork.

In clay: I wheel throw and also hand build my ceramic pieces.  (It just depends on what they are.) While I do use a variety of techniques, including creating stamps from my own original art, the technique I use most often is a 14th century style of decorating which mimics mosaic work, called "cuerda seca." I use oxide tinted wax resist to lay lines on pieces and then painstakingly fill each area with colorful glazes.  While this is probably one of the most time intensive ways to decorate ceramics, I love it because I can paint the same thing ten times and get ten different renditions.  No two are ever the same and unloading the kiln is always an exciting venture.

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY ART?
For silk: scarves can be washed with a mild detergent and cool water.  Hang to dry and then lightly press with an iron.  No bleach and no high heat, please! Canvases and wall hangings can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth.

For ceramics: first and foremost, don't drop on the floor ;)  Handwashing is always best for ceramics but my functional ware is dishwasher safe.
